The God’s Country Marathon (GCM) Committee has established various policies that govern the annual race for the benefit of runner safety and experience. These policies are as follows:
- Runners will be fully supported on the course until 2pm on race day. Runners and walkers are welcome to participate in our event. We must ensure a safe event for all participants. Participants that do not meet the cut-off will not be guaranteed support, which includes water stations, medical support or finish line.
- There is a strict no refund policy. GCM will not issue a refund under any circumstances. We understand that things happen and strive to accommodate as best we can. We do permit changes in event (for example, from full to half) and deferrals, as long as they are effectuated prior to the approval date, which typically occurs within a week of race day.
- Transfers are not allowed. Race administration is important for our runner safety — we need to know who our runners are, and where they are on the course. Transfers add complexity to that formula and unfortunately, we cannot accommodate.
- No show, no swag bag policy – Runners who do not show up on race day are not guaranteed swag bags or any other race day goodies.
- Runners must be present for any raffles or award winnings – GCM does not mail/send awards, swag, raffles or cash prizes to runners who are not present.
- GCM has a no dog/stroller policy. Even though we love dogs and kids, Route 6 does not. The shoulders on Route 6 are very narrow in many places, and runners, dogs and kids would be at significant risk if we were to allow runners to bring strollers or pets along for the race.
