Following the 2019 God’s Country Marathon, new leadership took over this long-standing race. In 2020, although the race was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several dedicated runners unofficially conquered the hill to challenge themselves and show their continued support and dedication to the race and course.
In 2021, the race was revitalized as God’s Country Marathon Race Series. Each and every year, on the first Saturday of June, runners continue to cross the finish line in beautiful Potter County.
Karen Larsen is the Race Director, with Amy Long, Richard Neefe, Britta Petrich, and Jessica Songster serving as committee members in partnership with countless local businesses and community volunteers.
In 2025 the marathon celebrated 50 years!
